Three tips for staying sane, from The Atlantic Daily:
Accepting the uncertainty inherent in life—particularly pandemic life—is better than fighting a constant battle against it, one we are bound to lose, the Stoics would say.
Embrace “one day at a time,” the principle of Alcoholics Anonymous: “I’ve worked to trick my brain into staying in the moment, and not dwelling on the future of the past.”
And consider keeping a journal.
I started keeping a journal daily in late February or early March, a little before the pandemic blew up in the US. I had been keeping a journal sporadically before then, but since then I’m more diligent.
My journal will be very boring for future historians to read and I pray it stays that way.
