Perspective from a Black VC about investing in Black founders. I found item 3, about cultural differences, particularly interesting.
Like the founders described in this essay, my impulse is to be direct – get to the point right away. And sometimes I worry that this impulse is interpreted as rudeness. I attribute this to my Jewish upbringing, and journalism career. I was pleasantly surprised in this essay to see Black founders compared with Israelis in their directness.
