Fans of Korean pop music, or K-Pop, are rallying online in support of Black Lives Matter

When the Dallas Police Department launched an app for people to send in videos of suspicious activity, K-Pop fans spammed the app with a denial-of-service attack that crashed it.

But K-Pop has its own racist history to deal with; the videos often feature cartoon portrayals of black masculinity.

Explained by Miranda Larsen, a Black mixed-race American living in Japan, who is a scholar and fan of K-Pop.
